Zip line meets roller coaster in new ride at Indiana Caverns

A unique adventure is coming to a southern Indiana park this spring.

CORYDON, Ind. (WTHR) - A unique adventure is coming to a southern Indiana park this spring.

Indiana Caverns is installing the "Bat Chaser," a ride that combines the thrills of zip lining, hang gliding and riding a roller coaster. Riders will hang from the steel structure, cruising through and around trees at speeds over 20 miles per hour. The ride starts on top of a 50-foot tower and travels over 600 feet over a large sinkhole.

The Bat Chaser will take single or tandem riders when it opens in mid-May at Indiana Caverns Family Adventure Park. It is the first "steel zip coaster" in the Midwest.

The company behind the coaster, Walltopia, posted video of the ride in Gatlinburg, Tenn. on their YouTube page.

Indiana Caverns is part of the seventh longest cave system in the United States.
