“We’re happy to move on,” Travis Sanheim CLAPS BACK at Cutter Gauthier following rookie’s controversial exit from Flyers

The NHL world received a major shock on Monday when the Philadelphia Flyers traded away top prospect Cutter Gauthier to the Anaheim Ducks. This came after the youngster claimed he was not interested in playing for them. Defencemen Travis Sanheim has now clapped back at him for his move.

Saheim like many was not pleased with the actions of the youngster. After having an impressive stint during the IIHF, fans were eager to see him perform for the Flyers. Unfortunately, things took a drastic turn as he refused to play for them. His trade saw the team receive defenceman Jamie Drysdale and a second-round pick.

Following this, the Flyers endured another difficult night on the ice as they lost 4-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. With that defeat fresh in the mind, Sanheim told reporters in the post-game conference that the team was “happy to move on” from Gauthier.

As a player in this locker room, that was something that stayed with us. For as long as I know, you show up to development camp whether you skate or not. So I think, if he doesn’t want to be here we’re happy to move on and get the pieces that we did.

Following Gauthier’s move away, the name of Kevin Hayes, another star of the Flyers popped out. Reporter Anthony SanFilippo pointed out how he played some part in the rookie’s shock exit. Hayes was left completely unimpressed with the words from SanFilippo and called him a clown for “making s**t up“.
