Use Xbox Design Lab on Your Console

With the holiday season fast approaching, people may be trying to think of gift ideas for their family and friends. For some, the idea of customising an Xbox One controller seems ideal, but so far if you wanted to do this, you needed to use a PC, phone or tablet to design your controller via the Xbox Design Lab web store. Now Microsoft has made this process a bit easier by allowing players to use Xbox Design Lab on their Xbox One console. They've also "streamlined" the experience to make it easier for players.Xbox Design Lab
To get to the app on your console, you need to go to the Microsoft Store, scroll to the "Browse consoles and accessories" section at the bottom of the page, and click on the "Xbox Design Lab" tile. Alternatively, you can search for "Xbox Design Lab".

Xbox Design Lab allows players to customise almost every aspect of their controller's external appearance, including controller body, back, bumpers, triggers, d-pad, joysticks, face buttons, and View and Menu buttons. You can even add a 16-character custom engraving, or the diamond grips found on many of Microsoft's limited edition controllers. Once finished, the controller can be added to the Cart where players can either follow the Checkout procedure to complete their order or save their design for later in case they change their mind.

If you're planning on grabbing a custom controller soon, you may want to wait for a few days. Players who order a controller between Friday, November 23rd, and Monday, November 26th, will get $10 off their purchase, although there's nothing to stop you designing it now and saving it for later.
