Nigerian afrobeats superstar, Tiwa Savage, has verified viral claims that an attempt to abduct her occurred on Thursday, April 13.
The mother of one provided details of the incident in a statement signed by her management and posted on her Instagram page.
The statement revealed there was a severe security breach at her Lagos home. While no harm was done to the singer or her family, a number of suspects have been detained and are being investigated by authorities.

The statement read,
“Following recent reports online, we can confirm that on Thursday, April 13, 2023, there was a major security breach at the residence of musician Tiwa Savage.
“A number of suspects were caught and are currently being held under investigation at Alagbon Police Station, Ikoyi. Ms. Savage and her family are safe and well.”
Journalist Kemi Olunloyo sounds alarm of kidnap attempt on Tiwa
Recall that famously controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has alleged that there was an attempt to kidnap popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
According to her, a recently hired domestic worker at Tiwa Savage’s house was involved in a conspiracy with other criminals to kidnap Tiwa Savage, and they had been monitoring her for a while.

However, their plans were revealed by the police and they were apprehended and handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department at Alagbon Police Station in Ikoyi, Lagos. Kemi made this disclosure on her Instagram page.
In her words,
“Earlier today Thursday April 13th 2023, an attempt was made to KIDNAP Tiwa Savage in Lagos. A new domestic staff specifically a driver was passing information to his co-conspirators who have been trailing her as she left home for days.
The guys have all been arrested with the help of vigilante style private security and they were handed to police at CID Alagbon in Ikoyi. Celebrities be very careful and wary of your domestic staff at all times.
Nigeria is very very dangerous these days. Don’t post your children online or your home etc. Just post your WORK. Tiwa is OK and in seclusion. I haven’t spoken with her and police will brief the media soon.”
