INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — A student carrying what turned out to be an airsoft toy gun, led to a lockdown Wednesday morning at Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center in Wayne Township schools.
A teacher spotted the student and initiated the lockdown.
A school resource officer then detained the student.
This morning, Lynhurst ⅞ Grade Center implemented their school safety plan resulting from a staff member who saw a student who appeared to have a weapon. At that time, the building was placed on a full lockdown and our school resource officer apprehended the student. Pt. 1

During the investigation it was learned that one student brought the toy to school to sell to another student.
The lockdown was lifted and classes resumed.
It is not yet clear if the students involved will be disciplined.
