Dying Light 2: Save Lawan or Detonate Ending Explained

You’ve officially reached the final quest of Dying Light 2, you’ve fought off Waltz and now you’ve got a difficult decision to make. Waltz has set his missiles to target Old Villedor and wipe out the remaining civilization, but Lawan is willing to sacrifice her life and destroy the missiles up before they launch. Aiden is then given two choices, save Lawan or let her detonate the bomb and destroy the missiles.

Save Lawan

Should you decide to Save Lawan, you are given 2 minutes to parkour to the missiles at the top of the facility and stop Lawan from detonating the bombs. Once you reach her, you begin to turn and attack her. Thankfully, Aiden is able to battle the urge to kill her as he turns and instead uses his abilities to grab Lawan and jump out of the facility just as the missiles launch.

Much of Old Villedor is destroyed by the missiles and many are killed. A cutscene then shows Spike enter the Fish Eye Canteen where Nikolas informs him that Aiden left Villedor after the incident, with his whereabouts now unknown.

Let Lawan Detonate The Bombs

The other option is to let Lawan detonate the bombs and save Old Villedor. If you choose this option, the outcome is more straightforward. Lawan detonates the bombs and dies in the process, whilst Aiden picks up Mia and leaves the facility, also leaving Waltz to die inside.

It’s worth noting that there is a possibility of Lawan being saved by Hakon, but this is dependent on other decisions made throughout the game and is revealed via some text at the end of the game.

Similar to the other ending, Spike then enters the Fish Eye Canteen and learns that Aiden left Villedor after saving Mia, who unfortunately died a few hours after leaving the X-13 facility.
