Daniel Ricciardo is the current Formula One driver for the McLaren F1 team and as per reports, it has come to light that the papaya-colored team is looking to sign Colton Herta as a replacement for Daniel Ricciardo for the 2024 season.
Ever since Daniel Ricciardo’s famous move to the McLaren team in 2021 the Australian hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations that the team had before signing him as their driver.
Daniel was signed by McLaren to lead the team into the future but so far to everyone’s surprise has proved second best to his young teammate Lando Norris.
During the current season as well Lando is ahead in the Drivers Championship and all this has led to rumors of McLaren looking for a replacement for Ricciardo.
According to Joe Saward, “According to Joe Saward, it is rumored that McLaren is considering Colton Herta as a replacement for Ricciardo in 2024 (or even sooner).”

Are Daniel Ricciardo’s days numbered at McLaren?
Given what the F1 journalist has said about Ricciardo it could certainly be the case that McLaren might be looking to move on from Ricciardo by the start of 2024.
Ricciardo is currently 32 years old whereas his rumored replacement Colton Herta(Indycar driver) is 22 and McLaren might be looking to form a young duo at their team with Herta and Norris to lead them into the future.
Moreover, Herta is of American origin and it is believed that his arrival at McLaren could help in improving the commercial value of the team in America where the sport is currently enjoying a period of boom.
Daniel so far in his career has won eight Grand Prix and is considered one of the best drivers on the current Formula One grid.
The honey badger has a charismatic personality and if McLaren certainly is looking at options for Ricciardo then it is going to break the hearts of the Australian’s die-hard fans and Formula enthusiasts in general as there is no one quite like Ricciardo in Formula One.
