EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Pope Francis has appointed a new bishop for the Diocese of Evansville.
Right now, Siegel is the auxiliary bishop of Joliet, Illinois.
He is from Illinois but he has ties to southwest Indiana.
He attended St. Meinrad Seminary in Spencer County.
He will be officially installed as the leader of the diocese on December 15th.
