Original depot use commenced in 1925, plans originally called for five story structure to include offices of New York Central railroad. Faciliity also boasted of Railway Express Services, a shoe shine shop, plus, restaurant, or, food service operations. Newly renovated facility is a "Crown Jewel", so to speak, to downtown Elyria, as well as Lorain County.
