A few days back, Netflix confirmed that Bastard is getting an anime adaptation. Well, the streaming platform recently released the first official trailer for the upcoming anime, and here’s everything you need to know about it.
Bastard!!: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy is a popular Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara. So far, the mangaka has released 27 volumes of the dark fantasy manga series. The incredible story of Bastard was adapted into Original Video Animations that came out in 1992.
Anime fans loved watching the dystopian Dungeons & Dragons-like world in the animated format. However, six-episode OVA wasn’t enough to capture the entirety of Bastard!!.

Bastard Anime Gets First Trailer
The first trailer for the upcoming adaptation was released during a live stream for Bastard anime on Netflix Anime’s official YouTube channel.

The 1-minute long teaser gives us a good look at several characters that’ll appear in the anime series. Along with incredible visuals and animation, the teaser flexes some fantastic voice-overs, getting us even more excited for the anime’s release. Here you go; take a good look at the teaser yourself:
Warner Bros. Japan is producing Bastard!! Anime, while LIDEN Films is working on the animation, the same studio that’s also working on Tokyo Revengers.
Besides releasing the first teaser, the staff also confirmed that Bastard anime would be a two-cour series. But we’ve yet to learn about the episode count in each season.
When writing this post, we know that theanime series will release sometime in 2022 on Netflix. However, there’s still no exact release date for the project.
