Black Panther actor Michael B Jordan has previously expressed his desire to bring Denzel Washington into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, he has a couple of ideas on what projects his fellow might take on once he finally joins the band of heroes and villains.
Jordan made his MCU debut as Erik Killmonger in 2018’s Black Panther. It is currently unknown whether the actor will return to the screen soon, though he lent his voice to a Killmonger variant in Disney+’s What If…?.
Michael B Jordan Wants Denzel Washington To Join The MCU
In an IMDb question-and-answer video, Michael B Jordan and Denzel Washington discussed the latter’s potential debut in a Marvel Studios film. The Black Panther star enthusiastically agreed that The Equalizer actor should join in the fun. He responded:
“Yes, no hesitation. I actually got some things in mind. I think I got some ideas for that, yeah, that’d be cool. After I finish Creed III, after I finish that project, then my mind can wander onto other creative things.”
Washington interjected, “Better hurry!” as a sign for Jordan to finish all his projects to finally get things off the ground. The Creed star also hinted that he could even bring both of them together to collaborate on a Marvel project.
Many rumors have been circulating on social media about which roles Washington could possibly take on. For years, he has been highly requested to join the Black Panther cast. He was also considered by fans to take up the mantle of the vampire hunter Blade.
The bottom line is that fans are quite excited to see the Oscar-winning actor transform into a Marvel character. Hopefully, Jordan will be able to convince Washington to say yes to the proposal so he can put his brilliant ideas into action.
Denzel Washington Turned Down A Major MCU Role
Fans have been suggesting quite a lot of possible MCU roles for Denzel Washington, but there is one casting rumor on a major franchise that they can finally rule out. The actor reportedly declined to star as Galactus in 2025’s Fantastic Four reboot.
The report came from industry scooper Grace Randolph, who said that the Training Day star declined the opportunity to become MCU’s supervillain in Matt Shakman’s movie.
Washington’s acting chops would definitely bring the iconic antagonist to life. Though this sounds like a big disappointment, fans still hope that he might reconsider his decision. Also, note that this is only a scoop, and Randolph’s record is sometimes a hit or miss. There is also no confirmation from Marvel Studios yet.
Interestingly, James Gunn’s DCU is also offering endless opportunities for new actors to join his recently revamped enterprise. In fact, fans are also campaigning for Washington to become Batman’s Lucius Fox or the voice of Darkseid.
In the meantime, Michael B Jordan is gearing up for a new Val-Zod Superman project which he will produce through his production company Outlier Society, while Denzel Washington recently starred in the third installment of The Equalizer.
