Skies stay clear this evening and overnight as temperatures drop into the upper 60s. We have a sunny and hotter day on Sunday with highs near 90.

INDIANAPOLIS — It was feast or famine for rain over the last 24 hours. Lafayette to Muncie stayed dry while Indianapolis saw a minimal 0.03". Heavier storms lead to over a quarter of an inch in Terre Haute with the highest rainfall amounts falling from Shelbyville to Rushville.

Drier air is building in on the backside of that boundary which will help clear the sky during the day and will drop the "muggy meter" back into the more comfortable zone. Look for a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon with highs in the upper 80s.

The stalled boundary will begin to lift back north on Independence Day in the form of a warm front. This will increase clouds and a chance of stray storms in the afternoon. Temperatures also heat up with highs back in the low 90s.

The heat is on for the remainder of the week with highs in the low to mid 90s through next Thursday with daily scattered afternoon showers and storms. The "muggy meter" will also return to the miserable category with dew points forecast to be in the mid 70s for most of the week.
