Kamala Harris went online to wish Joe Biden a happy birthday, trolls make her wish she hadn't

WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris found herself thrust into an unusual situation, as she was vehemently mocked after she took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a post on President Joe Biden's birthday.

The commander-in-chief, who became the oldest president in American history when he took office in 2021, turned 81 on Monday, November 20, amid growing disquiet about his health and acuity.

He celebrated the occasion by joining the social media platform Threads and posting a photo of himself smiling next to a giant cake.

"I turned 81 and all I got was a new social platform! Thanks for the well wishes, folks. And to the workers at the birthday candle factory, I hope your union got you overtime," wrote the POTUS on X (formerly Twitter).

He also received a swell of birthday greetings from his famous friends and Democratic colleagues across social media.

Internet reacts to Kamala Harris' birthday wish for Joe Biden

As soon as Kamala Harris' wish surfaced on social media, trolls wasted no time in making fun of her and Joe Biden.

Kamala Harris says she and Joe Biden need to 'earn' reelection

President Joe Biden’s 81st birthday came amid ongoing concerns about his age dominating discussions around his potential 2024 reelection campaign. Previously, Kamala Harris admitted that she and the President need to "earn" their reelection in 2024.

"We’re going to have to earn our reelect, there’s no doubt about it," she told CNN during the phone interview aboard Air Force Two after traveling to South Carolina earlier this month to formally file for the Democratic primary.

Harris said the Biden administration’s "really long" list of achievements for Black Americans makes it difficult to ensure that the message is heard, according to the New York Post.

She said, "In some ways," to the outlet, adding "Actually, probably there’s a hindrance, in that the list is really long, and we have to triage around what we repeat over and over again to make sure that it resonates and it’s actually heard."
