Jada Pinkett Smith has proven her acting potential with several hits including her work in The Matrix franchise. However, her personal life seems to get much attention due to many events that have continued to make her life intriguing to the public. While many can’t forget the last year’s uproar where she had quite a big role, the infamous Oscars slap eventually dug her past.
One such past was her dating life which shook the world. However, many might be unaware of the fact that she had shared a kiss with her close pal, Tupac Shakur which she confessed in 2015.
Jada Pinkett Smith Got Candid About Kissing Tupac Shakur
In an appearance on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM, Jada Pinkett Smith threw light on her relationship with late rapper, Tupac Shakur. Given that the duo shared quite a close bond, she mentioned why they never made any advancements.
“You know, it’s so funny. Now being older, I have more of an understanding of what that was between us.”
She continued,
“When you have two young people that have very strong feelings, but there was no physical chemistry between us at all, and it wasn’t even just for me! It was him too.”
She recalled that they even tried to get physical with each other but things didn’t work out.
“There was a time when I was like, ‘Just kiss me! Let’s just see how this goes.’ And when I tell you it had to be the most disgusting kiss for us both. The only way I can put it is, the higher power just did not want that.”
It was clear that both had a clear understanding that they want nothing but a close friendship with each other. She also threw in another reason as to why they were not compatible with one another.
Jada Pinkett Smith Still Loved Tupac Shakur Deeply
Their friendship blossomed when they attended the Baltimore School for the Arts. From there on, their bond strengthened with many speculating at times about whether they were in a romantic or platonic relationship. Despite that, both personalities remained adamant that they only shared a friendship bond with the rapper’s old interviews hinting that she had a special corner in his heart.
In the interview, she further addressed their bonding explaining why they would not be compatible.
“If Pac and I had any kind of sexual chemistry, we might have killed each other because we were both so passionate.”
She still admitted,
In all aspects, they were an important part of each other’s lives which is why the actress was shattered after Shakur’s tragic death happened in 1996. However, she continued to honor him and their friendship by recalling the times they shared.“And you know, we loved deeply. It was hard enough with us just being friends. It was a volatile relationship.”
