Jennifer Garner Had a Typically Sweet Message for ‘BGA’ on Father’s Day

Famously sweet and pretty private, Jennifer Garner kept her Father’s Day post short and to the point. No mushy gushing here!

Sharing a photo of herself and her parents, the 13 Going on 30 star wrote, “Happy Father’s Day to the best to ever do the job….We love you, Dad. X.” She also added an aside addressing her wardrobe: “(Jeans in church 😬— I made my connecting flight, but my luggage didn’t 🙏).” I can’t say I’ve spoken to the Lord above directly, but I’m pretty sure he is okay with jeans as long as your heart is in the right place, Jen!

Of course, she couldn’t celebrate the day without acknowledging ex-husband Ben Affleck, with whom she shares three kids: Violet Anne, 17, Seraphina Rose, 13, and Samuel, 10. “PS Shout out to BGA—no one loves their kids like you love ours, happy Father’s Day, Ben! X” she wrote. (His middle name is Géza…the more you know!)

Her post has the exact opposite vibe of the one shared by Affleck’s wife, Jennifer Lopez, who famously started her picture dump off with what is clearly a cropped nude of the Good Will Hunting actor. On the one hand, there’s Ben flexing his abs in the mirror, and on the other, Jennifer Garner literally in a literal church. A tale of two Jens!

But they’re all adults and seem to get along, especially when it comes to raising their blended families. In 2022 Lopez recalled the early days of her reconnection with Affleck, saying, “We had our kids and we had to tread lightly and carefully so they could come along with us…. Because they didn’t live those years before…And they’re like, ‘Wow, they’ve known each other forever.’ And that’s it. We did know each other forever, and we had to live these separate paths and we did other beautiful things and we had these amazing children.” This year she gave a positive update, telling the Today show, “He’s fantastic. He really steps up to the challenge of what that is and what that means. And [my kids] love him. They love him. And they appreciate him, and so do I.”
