The whole world will have their eyes on football superstars Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe as they face off in the 2022 World Cup final.
Mbappe is one of the youngest players to lift the trophy, having been 19 when France were crowned champions in 2018.

But how do his stats compare to Paris Saint-Germain teammate Messi's when he was the same age?
France icon Mbappe is 11 years and six months younger than Argentina's main man, 35-year-old Messi, but has already established himself as one of the sport's best.
The 23-year-old will celebrate his 24th birthday two days after the World Cup final.
But age is just a number for Mbappe, considering he's already become his country's seventh-highest ever goalscorer since his debut under current manager Didier Deschamps in 2017.
Of course, Messi already holds the title as Argentina's all-time top goalscorer with 96 goals for La Albiceleste.
However, despite being much younger, Mbappe has one accolade that has evaded Messi during his career - the World Cup trophy.

But just how good was Messi when he was Mbappe's age on both the world stage and in club football?
talkSPORT.com has taken a dive into the record books...
Messi's international record at Mbappe's age
Between his debut for Argentina in 2005 at the age of 18 and the two days prior to his 24th birthday - as Mbappe will be in Sunday's final - Messi had scored 17 goals in 57 appearances.
He also assisted 15 goals in that time.
One of those goals and one of those assists came on his debut against Serbia and Montenegro at the 2006 World Cup.
The game saw him become the youngest player to represent Argentina at a World Cup when he came on as a substitute in the 74th minute.

It also made him the youngest scorer in the tournament and the sixth-youngest goalscorer in the history of the World Cup.
Meanwhile, since his France debut in March 2017 - also at the age of 18 - Mbappe has netted 33 goals, surpassing France legend Zinedine Zidane and, therefore, Messi when he was Les Bleus star's age.
He's has also surpassed Messi's assist record by the same age, setting up 23 goals in those 65 appearances.
Messi's club record at Mbappe's age
It's the same story when looking at Messi's stats between his debut for Barcelona's first team in 2004 and just before his 24th birthday.
At 17 years, three months, and 22 days old, teenage Messi was the youngest player to represent Barcelona in an official competition at the time when he was chosen to face Espanyol in LaLiga.
He went on to score 183 goals before he was 24 and assisted 83 in 285 games for Barca.
The 2010/2011 season even saw him net a mammoth 50 goals.
But it turns out Mbappe has pipped Messi in this case, too.

Across his time at boyhood club Monaco and then PSG, Mbappe has scored 210 goals, with 183 coming during his time with Les Parisiens.
He's also recorded 99 assists during his club career, all in 345 senior appearances.
