As part of Pokemon GO’s yearly Fashion Week event, the Poodle Pokemon, Furfrou, which first appeared in Pokemon X and Y is debuting in the game.
It will be appearing alongside a range of other costumed Pokemon including Butterfree, Sneasel and Smoochum during the event.
As with all new Pokemon in Pokemon GO, players are wondering if Furfrou is good and if so, what is its best moveset. Let’s take a look.
Is Furfrou Good in Pokemon GO and The GO Battle League?
Furfrou is a pure Normal-type Pokemon which means it is always going to face an uphill battle in Pokemon GO’s PVP modes and unfortunately, that shows.
According to Pokemon ranking website PVPoke, Furfrou is the 392nd best choice in the game’s Great League. Admittedly, using its best moveset, Furfrou does beat some tricky opposition, including Galarian Stunfisk, Jellicent and Sableye, however, it’s overwhelmed by many more. It loses against most of the top choices in the league, including Azumarill, Medicham, Skarmory and Umbreon.
While it performs better in the Ultra League, ranking at 347th, Furfrou still struggles to make a splash. This time it beats the likes of Swampert, Snorlax, Gengar and Origin Forme Giratina, however, loses against Altered Forme Giratina, Cresellia, Melmetal and more of the big guns.
Furfrou’s worst overall performance comes in the Master League, which is unsurprising given that it’s dominated by Legendary Pokemon. Sadly, Furfrou can’t beat any of them one-vs-one and therefore, isn’t viable in this division.
What is the Best Furfrou Moveset in Pokemon GO?
As stated, you’d have to be a pretty brave trainer to want to use Furfrou in Pokemon GO’s PVP mode.
However, if you fancy your chances, this is the Furfrou moveset that you should be using:
- Fast Move – Sucker Punch
- Charged Move – Surf
- Charged Move – Grass Knot
Good Luck!
