With Kamisato Ayaka getting her first ever banner rerun, both Genshin Impact newcomers and veterans are wondering if it’s worth it to pull her twice and get her up to C1.
Ayaka’s C1 Explained
Ayaka’s first Constellation is Snowswept Sakura: whenever her Normal or Charged Attack deals Cryo DMG, there’s a 50% chance that the cooldown of her E/Elemental Skill will decrease by 0.3 seconds, and this can occur once every 0.1 seconds.
At first it sounds like a completely useless Constellation seeing a 0.3s decrease is incredibly small. The thing is, Ayaka’s Charged Attack hits an opponent 3 times, so probability wise you’re bound to get at least one 0.3s decrease per Charged Attack. Furthermore, Ayaka’s Charged Attack can also hit several opponents simultaneously if they’re close enough, so that’s further chances to decrease her E’s cooldown.
Is it Actually Worth it Though?
I’m an Ayaka main since day 1 and I don’t think I will be getting her to C1. Getting her to C1 means you’ll get to use her E more often, which in turn means Ayaka will gather Elemental Energy faster, and you’ll be able to use her Q/Elemental Burst more. But that’s pretty much the sole benefit from her C1. And if you already have a good Energy gatherer in your party like Raiden Shogun, you can already shoot Ayaka’s Q pretty often anyway.
There’s also how Ayaka’s Burst, unlike characters like Venti or John Lee, isn’t an AOE that you just shoot whenever the her gauge is full. You actually need to aim Ayaka’s Q pretty carefully, It moves in a straight line, and there are many times when her Energy will be maxed but you won’t be at the right position to trigger her Q.

Ayaka’s E can also launch light enemies so you can interrupt their attacks and then keep attacking with her Charged Attack. Meaning you’ll be able to do that more at C1, but it’s like a niche application seeing most dangerous enemies are heavy.
Personally speaking, rather than getting Ayaka to C1 or higher, I’d say it’d be best to save your Primos for future characters, especially seeing we are getting closer to the release of Sumeru with Dendro characters and Baizhu. Getting 5-star characters above C0 is something that should be left to whales anyways. I’d always advocate saving your Primogems for new characters you might fall in love with instead.
