Angel Beats is getting a lot of new content recently, including new Girls Dead Monster songs, so many fans are wondering if a sequel, anime or game, is confirmed.
Angel Beats! is an anime by studio P.A. Works and visual novel game company Key, first aired in 2010. Famous for being one of the saddest anime series of the last decade, Angel Beats was written by Jun Maeda. He’s the co-founder of Key, who’s known for sad stories like Kanon, Air, Clannad, or The Day I Became a God. His latest game, Heaven Burns Red, is planned for a February 2022 release in Japan.
Angel Beats was most notably the anime which made Demon Slayer singer LiSA popular. She’s the singing voice of Yui (who’s voiced by Eri Kitamura outside of concerts).

Is there an Angel Beats 2 anime or game sequel officially confirmed?
As of December 2021, Key did not announce a new Angel Beats sequel yet, however, new information might be coming very soon. Seeing what has happened these past few days.
New Angel Beats Girls Dead Monster songs revealed
On December 18, 2021, three new Angel Beats songs by fictional group Girls Dead Monster were released. These are the first new songs in five years. Hinting that Angel Beats news could be happening soon.

New Tenshi (Kanade Tachibana) key visual revealed
The February 2022 edition of Dengeki G’s Magazine, released on December 27, 2021, has a feature on Angel Beats. Kanade Tachibana aka Tenshi is on the cover, drawn by Angel Beats character designer Na-Ga.
The 28-pages feature most notably includes a round table interview with Key developers. Takahiro Baba (Visual Arts / Key representative), Kai (Director / Scenario writer), and Toya Okano (Producer).
The interview focuses on Heaven Burns Red, Kaginado, which will add in its season 2 Angel Beats characters. And Prima Doll. The interview doesn’t focus on Angel Beats. But this might be another hint news are coming soon.

Will the Angel Beats sequel be a game or an anime?
Key released in June 2015 the visual novel Angel Beats! -1st Beat-. This is the “ultimate” version of Angel Beats. The game details the story much more than the anime. However, this is only one part of the story. Key never released Angel Beats! -2nd Beat-.
Since the game exists, it’s unlikely P.A. Works and Key will make a new Angel Beats anime, but it’s not completely impossible. Anyways, I’ll be sure to tell you if a new Angel Beats project is announced. You can always hit me up to chat about the series on Twitter @A_iyane07.
