HBO just dropped a brand new trailer for the upcoming TV show Peacemaker that will release in January. But the trailer has left fans curious about Vigilante (the other guy in a costume) and they are wondering if Adrian Chase is the Vigilante in the show.
The show Peacemaker is set to explore the story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of Gunn’s 2021 film The Suicide Squad – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

Who Is Vigilante aka Adrian Chase In DC?
In the DC comic book world, Vigilante is an anti-hero who kills street-level criminals and mob bosses rather than superhuman villains. There have been multiple incarnations of Vigilante in DC comics but the most popular one is Adrian Chase.
Adrian Chase is a district attorney who turns to a life of violence as the Vigilante after his family is killed by mobsters. Initially, he makes efforts to not take the lives of his enemies but his mind gets corrupted during the bloody crusade to deliver justice. So eventually Vigilante resorts to killing his enemies.
Peacemaker and Vigilante’s Relationship In DC
Both Vigilante and Peacemaker are dedicated to fighting the bad guys and maintaining peace. They initially set out as friends but eventually become mortal enemies.
At one point, Adrian Chase tries to give up the life of the costumed killer Vigilante, and his friend Dave Winston takes up the vigilante mantle instead. However, when Peacemaker and the new Vigilante try to prevent terrorists from hijacking a plane, the Peacemaker kills this Vigilante.
Vigilante Powers
Vigilante has superhuman powers and is a master of armed and unarmed combat. He possesses superhuman healing abilities and can recover from nearly any injury. However, he can die if the initial injury is severe enough.
Will Adrian Chase Be The Vigilante In Peacemaker?
In the Peacemaker trailer, the actual identity of Vigilante is not actually revealed as Adrian Chase but it will most likely be so. But whether the portrayal of Adrian Chase as Vigilante will remain true to the comics is yet to be known.
We have already seen the characters Adrian Chase and Vigilante debut made in Arrow Season 5, but they appeared as separate characters. But several characters were tweaked in the Arrow series to suit the story. So we doubt that the Arrowverse versions of Chase and Vigilante would make it to Peacemaker.
DCEU can use the preexisting relationship of Peacemaker and Vigilante in the comics (explained above) and it could well set the tone for their dynamic in the upcoming TV series. Or just like Arrow, the creators can go creative with the characters and use a different incarnation of Vigilante in Peacemaker.
