Elizabeth Olsen has left an indelible mark on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) through her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch. Her introduction occurred in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), where her character initially exhibited telekinetic and mind-controlling abilities.
However, it was in the Disney+ series WandaVision (2021) that Olsen truly showcased her exceptional talent. The series delved deeply into Wanda’s anguish and mental turmoil, allowing Olsen’s versatile acting prowess to shine. She effortlessly transitioned between sitcom-style humor and poignant drama. But she doesn’t know her co-stars very well.
Elizabeth Olsen Doesn’t Know John Krasinski
Elizabeth Olsen recently made a surprising revelation, stating that she has never had the opportunity to meet one of her fellow co-stars from Doctor Strange 2, despite their shared screen time. The talented actor, renowned for her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the Multiverse of Madness, took part in an interview where she willingly submitted to a lie detector test.
John Krasinski’s role in the film is brief, as he meets his demise at the hands of Olsen’s character. Nonetheless, when Vanity Fair presented her with a photograph of him, she disclosed that she had never encountered him in person, and the lie detector confirmed her truthfulness.
Olsen told Vanity Fair:
“I don’t know him. I don’t think so. No, I’ve never met him.”
Olsen seemed to have a stroke of luck with that particular question. It appears that she was making an effort to keep John Krasinski’s cameo in the film under wraps, and this secret was successfully maintained until the film’s recent release earlier this month.
Nevertheless, fans continue to express their bewilderment over the fact that Olsen and Krasinski have never crossed paths.
Fans Think Elizabeth Olsen Exposed Marvel
After Elizabeth Olsen’s comments about not knowing John Krasinski, who literally acted in the same movie as her, fans believe she has exposed how Marvel shoots their films. Some users pointed out that MCU actors say their lines in front of the green screen, with nobody on the other side. Some suggested that Marvel uses this method to avoid leaks before the film releases.
One user commented:
“I thought it was common knowledge that many actors are not in scenes together in Marvel movies. They literally act and react to no one there. It’s supposed to prevent “accidental” leaks and whatever. But yeah, she probably never met him or did a scene together and were just CGI’d.”
“Guys scenes can be shot months apart, they are in one movie together. Unless they are in a a shot together literally standing next to each other they probably don’t see them,” one user pointed out.
That said, it’s likely that the scene where Elizabeth Olsen and John Krasinski come together was shot using some filmmaking trickery. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available for streaming on Disney+.
