“I’m not interested,” Karim Benzema shares a cryptic message on Instagram amidst rumors of his return to the French squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final

France booked their spot in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals as they beat Morocco in an emphatic win over them in the semifinals. Karim Benzema recently posted a confounding Instagram post with a strange caption that suggests something. France is amongst the news regarding the hopes and chances of bringing their Ballon d’Or winner, who earlier missed the team as he was injured, as a surprise in the final against Argentina.

Karim Benzema, wrote, “I’m not interested” or “I don’t care” can be translated into both, on a simple Instagram selfie. The most troubling question for the fans and the media is whether the striker would start one of the most anticipated finals in the last decade or more. While perceptions have been made that the player won’t be playing in the final anyhow, there’s still a slight possibility of a game-changing moment on the last day.

Karim Benzema was dropped from the team following a knee injury that he suffered while training for France’s world cup opener. After France’s mystic run to the finals there were rumors and for a fact that the player was never dropped. If he feels well, then by the rules can be reinstated into the squad. The 2022 FIFA World Cup Final is one of the biggest occasions for France as they have reached it for the second consecutive time.

If the Real Madrid talisman would care to join the team, it would rather be a more tedious job for the Albiceleste to stop the Ballon d’Or winner from reaching the back of the net. However, if the Frenchman doesn’t play, the in-form Olivier Giroud gets to match it in that place and is currently running with great form. A tiebreaker between Lionel Messi‘s and Kylian Mbappe’s 5-goal tally would also be an interesting sight.

Karim Benzema returned to action in a training fixture behind closed doors on Thursday as Real Madrid hosted Leganes at Valdebebas. But the 2021 Ballon d’Or winner is not going to make a shock return to the France squad in time for the World Cup final against Argentina. Having been ruled out on France’s 2018 winning squad during his years in the international wilderness, Benzema was a wanted man ahead of Euro 2020, and 2022 would have been his first World Cup since 2014.

However, an injury on the tournament eve had the 34-year-old leave Qatar even before the first whistle. Coach Didier Deschamps never called up a replacement, which he was allowed to do as he pleased before France’s first game. There’s a standing fact that Benzema never officially withdrew. That means that the dangerous forward is still technically part of the squad now, even though he has been back in Madrid for almost a month. So, if France wins the title, technically, Benzema is eligible for a medal
