Final Fantasy 16 will have players playing as a single character through almost the entire game. While this is quite the change compared to other games in the series, the focus on just Clive offers much more creativity in building him using the many abilities and gear pieces at your disposal.

Throughout the game, you'll be able to buy better swords from the shop. You can also use the blacksmith to craft and reinforce your gear to make them even stronger. Some of the best weapons in the game are crafted, rewarding those who took the time to find the materials.
Where To Find Darksteel
Darksteel is a very rare material that can only be found in two places throughout the game. The first Darksteel can be found by completing the Thanatos Hunt, with the beast being found in The Gilded Path region of the Dhalmakian Republic. Defeating this monster will have it drop a single Darksteel.
The other Darksteel can be found by completing the hunt for the Prince Of Death near Northreach in Sanbreque. This hunt will bring players face to face with the Grim Reaper, a Lich-like enemy that is incredibly powerful and shouldn't be attempted until close to the end of the game. Defeating this monster will also have it drop the second and final Darksteel.

How To Use Darksteel
There are only two Darksteel in the game, and both of the powerful enemies must be defeated to get these items. Players must then complete the quest Blacksmith Blues IV to get the crafting recipe for a legendary sword. For those who complete the quest and have the Darksteel, they can create Gotterdammerung. Players will first need the Ragnarok sword, three Orichalcum, two Darksteel, and one Primitive Battlehorn. This can be a completed recipe, but the reward is well worth the effort in combat.
