Jar-Bairn is a brand new NPC with its own quest in Elden Ring that was added to the game after the most recent update. He is also the key to finishing the Diallos questline.
Today’s Elden Ring update not only fixed dozens of bugs and maintained the overall balance of the game, but also added some new content, including a brand new NPC located at Jarburg!

The questline of Jar-Bairn is tied to the quests of Diallos and Iron Fist Alexander, meaning you should first finish both questlines to be able to reach the end of Jar-Bairn’s quest.
How to Complete Jar-Bairn Quest in Elden Ring
Jar-Bairn is located in Jarburg at the southeast of Carian Study Hall in Liurnia of the Lakes, you can talk to him, but we suggest you begin the questline of Diallos first, which is tied to the Volcano Manor questline. We have already explained how to finish the questline of Diallos here.
Once you find the dead body of Diallos and get his armaments, now you should finish Iron Fist Alexander’s questline. Hopefully, we have this one covered as well in a separate article that you can read here.
Once you get Alexander’s Innards at Crumbling Farum Azula, you can get back to Jar-Bairn. Speak with him and then give him Alexander’s Innards. After that, you will receive the Companion Jar Talisman from Jar-Bairn, which ends his quest for now.
