a bit of hot water is not going to break the epoxy that takes sustained heat. Put the kettle on and when it's boiling hold the club over it,after a wee bit the ferrule will be movable, a small dab of epoxy will stop this from happening again but remember to tidy up any spare epoxy with some white spirits.
