Earthbound was released yesterday for Nintendo Switch during the highly anticipated Nintendo Direct.

It was quite a surprising announcement considering that none of the leaks had suggested that this was in the works. Even if you have played the original games, it must have been a long time, so fans are quite eager to get their hands on the game.
Here Is What Favorite Thing & Food Does In Earthbound
If you have played Earthbound in the past, you must be well aware of the fact that the favorite food is quite a recurring element in the franchise. In the very first game, Earthbound Beginnings, there is no specific food that is the favorite food. Instead, players can choose any food as their favorite food. However, by default the favorite food is Steak. Now what the favorite food does is that it basically restores the HP and PP of your entire party. Coming to the favorite thing, the favorite thing of Ninten is Rockin. Do note that this is only the default preference. Just like the favorite food, the favorite thing can also be chosen by the player. Now unlike the favorite food, the favorite thing has much lesser significance as what it does is only replace your first PSI attack. It basically changes the name of it, so there is not much significance apart from that.
In Earthbound, however, the players don’t get the liberty to choose their favorite food. Instead, there are a number of defaults already set in the game which will be the favorite food. Here are the defaults in the game.
