Guide for Corpse Party - Walkthrough overview

Welcome to the walkthrough of Corpse Party! This version was originally released on the PSP and iOS, which was ported over to the Nintendo 3DS, and then finally to Xbox in 2021. It also received an anime adaptation in 2013. In this walkthrough, I will be providing everything you need to get 1000G in this game, as well as a full 100%. You do not need to do EVERYTHING in the game! However, I will be providing a full, 100% guide anyways, for completion's sake.

Here’s a quick rundown of the entire walkthrough.
  • The main story is split into 5 chapters. These will take the majority of your time. Here, you’ll work towards the True Ends of each Chapter, while grabbing collectibles (name tags, wrong ends) along the way. 40 of the game's achievements will be unlocked here.
  • After completing the main story, you’ll spend a bit of time in the Extra Chapters. They won’t take too long, as they are all mostly cutscenes, and you won't have to do all of them. There are a few achievements tied to specific Chapters. The remaining 10 achievements will be unlocked within the Extra Chapters.

Below, I've included a short Q&A for questions you may have about this game.

Q&A

Should I play Corpse Party?

Yes! As this game falls under the point and click genre, you should have no issues jumping in regardless of your gaming experience. However, as evident by the title of the game and the thumbnail, this game will be quite graphic and dark. If you don’t like seeing grisly imagery or cute anime characters suffering, please be careful!

What's gameplay like?

Corpse Party is a narrative-focused, dialogue-heavy game with light gameplay. Outside of cutscenes and dialogue, you will need to explore the world a bit and interact with objects, with some light puzzle solving. If you’ve played other point-and-click games, like Telltale’s The Walking Dead, Corpse Party will feel similar.

There’s an achievement for viewing at least 15 endings. Will I have to play the game 15 times??

No, don’t worry, you will not have to play 15 times. Endings are split between chapters, and many involve making the wrong choice, or interacting with certain objects. I will make note of the earliest chance to get a specific ending per chapter.

Are there any missable achievements?

Nope! Should you miss something, you can load up an older save or begin a new playthrough of a chapter to get any achievements you missed. Most are story related, and those that are not should be unlocked naturally through play, such as the aforementioned 15 ending one. A few will involve making a certain choice during conversations, but I will make note of what option to choose.

How will this walkthrough be structured?

Seeing as this is a point-and-click, the story will be linear, but will have “wrong endings” based on choices you make. As such, I will guide you to the best endings, but make note of all wrong endings in spoiler tags. All collectibles will be marked in bold. In addition, as this is a very story-focused game, I will keep spoilers and cutscene details to a minimum!

Is this really a 20-25 hour game?

It depends. If you choose to take in the story by not skipping any text/letting the voices play and seeing all the game has to offer, expect the game to last about that much. For reference, my first 100% blind playthrough took me about 27 hours. If you choose to blaze through all the story and text, it might take you half that amount of time or even less. My second playthrough of the game, which was to prepare for this walkthrough, took about 13 hours (which was also 100%). I would highly recommend doing the former as it’s an enjoyable story, but the decision is yours!

You keep mentioning 100%'ing the game. Will I have to do that?

I define 100% as collecting every single name tag, ending, basically seeing every nook and cranny of the game. You do not need to do the same, as once you unlock the achievements for collecting a certain number of name tags/endings, you no longer have to go for them if you so wish. I will make note of the earliest points where you can unlock these, but I will continue to make note of the collectibles.

Should I follow the walkthrough to a T?

I would suggest using the walkthrough as a guide, and try exploring the game at your own pace. I will provide what you need to complete the game and get 1000G, but there are so many things that you may miss if you only follow the guide word for word. Remember, there are no real missables, so I would suggest taking in all the game has to offer!
