Andy Murray defeated Nick Kyrgios 7-6, 6-2 in the Stuttgart Open semi-finals to set up a final against Matteo Berrettini. Murray was playing in his first tour-level semi-final since 2016 when he defeated Tomas Berdych in straight sets before overcoming Milos Raonic to win his last Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon.
Like every other match featuring Kyrgios, this one was rife with controversy. Nick Kyrgios was given a point and a game penalty in quick succession after losing the first set in his Stuttgart Open semi-final against Andy Murray. The triumph of the British player in the first-set tie-break generated a strong reaction, which was met with revenge. He then smashed his racket, earning himself another game penalty for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The Australian also had an argument with the umpire.
Kyrgios got a point penalty to start the 2nd set, then hit two double faults, got broken and then a game penalty.
Supervisor called.

Leaving aside the contentious issues, there was one point in the match when Kyrgios won the hearts of the spectators and put on a good performance in the Stuttgart stadium with his legendary Tweener shot. In the first set of his matchup against Andy Murray, Kyrgios went between his legs for an impressive return which left the Brit and the audience wonder-struck.

Show us when he broke his racket like a rude boy.

Obviously it would be better if he didn’t conduct himself the way he does sometimes and disrupt the game.
— Nicholas Thorton (@nickjthorton) June 11, 2022
Maybe the court isn’t for him then? He’s persistently conducted himself in a poor manner. This isn’t an isolated incident. A plethora of people have to go about their daily business with mental health issues, this is a lame response at best.

Well no! Children shoudn't take him as a role model.

Kyrgios is an embarrassment to the game.
Hopefully you guys have finally learned your lesson, and will stop inviting him to your tournaments.@atptour @NickKyrgios

John McEnroe was entertaining. Jimmy Connors was entertaining. Nick Kyrgios entertaining? Are you kidding me? You have to be a winner first to be entertaining.

Nick Kyrgios and Dennis Shapovalov do have great potential for grand slams, yet they throw them away 🤐

@NickKyrgios has 💩 in his head. He shouldn't play with men. He should compete with children on playground 🤦. It's disgusting to see how he spits on fans and whole tennis discipline 🤢🤮
