GNC recalls supplement due to risk of poisoning

GNC is recalling a supplement that was sold from Sept. 2000 to Aug. 2018.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — GNC is recalling an iron supplement due to a risk of poisoning.

Women's Iron Complete is being recalled because it fails to meet child resistant closure requirements. And therefore, if it were accidentally ingested by a child, these supplements could cause serious injury or death.

The specific bottle of the recalled nutrient is 60-count caplets in a white box with gray and red font.

The product was sold at retail stores from September 2000 to August 2018 and online from September 2000 to August 2016.

The product costs about $10.

Anyone with this recalled item should keep out of reach of children and contact GNC at 888-462-2548 for a refund.
