Indianapolis, December 28 - Glendale Mall is reportedly losing another major retail store.
The Indianapolis Star reports that the Oldy Navy clothing store will close at Glendale in January for reasons not disclosed by it's parent company The Gap.
Old Navy will join a list of stores that have left Glendale in recent years, including Stein Mart and The Limited.
Retailers and customers are concerned that once Old Navy closes, other stores might shut their doors as well.
The Star also reports that Casual Corner, which has a store at Glendale, could soon close nationwide.
And there is some fear that the remaining anchor story L.S. Ayres could close as victim of its new parent company Federated Department Stores, which promised to close under-performing stores.
Glendale Mall owner Kite Realty Group has said in the past that it is exploring its options, from selling the mall, to bulldozing it, to building a new one.
Five years ago, $45 million was spent to make over the struggling mall. Analysts say there are enough people in the area to support it, but the mall obviously hasn't found the right tenants yet.
