Before this recent comment, the stars had faced rumors during the filming of Anyone But You. Some people thought they might be romantically involved, but Sweeney (who’s engaged) already clarified things. During her Saturday Night Live! monologue, The White Lotus actress addressed a rumor, stating:
“The craziest rumor I’ve seen is that while I was filming ‘Anyone But You,’ I was having an affair with my co-star Glen Powell. That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiancé produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot, and I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams and we’re still together and stronger than ever.”
The 26-year-old continued, “He even came here tonight to support me, can we cut to him?” As the cameras swiftly switched to showcase her fiancé (Jonathan Davino), there was a hilarious twist as Powell unexpectedly popped up on screen instead. Sweeney quickly clarified that the Top Gun: Maverick star isn’t her fiancé, because Davino was actually in her dressing room.

Lots of fans are pretty sure that Glen Powell’s comment means there’s something more between him and Sydney Sweeney. They reference the undeniable chemistry the duo displayed on screen in Anyone But You. Looks like, the fans excitement might push movie studios to approve a new project with them.
There have been some rumors going around about a possible sequel to Anyone But You. Even, in an interview with Variety, the Austin native himself confirmed they’re reading scripts and searching for the perfect follow-up. The actor said:
“When you find somebody that you really jive with, Sydney is so easy to work with and so fun. We’re definitely trying to find the next thing. Please send us all the scripts you got. You know we’re here for it. It’s been really wonderful to read a lot. Sydney reads everything, by the way, and in record time. She’s the fastest reader I think I’ve ever met. It takes me a little longer, but we’re reading everything and just trying to see what makes sense, what we can turn into something that audiences are going to respond to.”
But, so far, nothing has been officially confirmed. While details are scarce, it’s clear that the Hollywood stars are interested in working together again!
