Players had been waiting for the most anticipated Genshin Impact 2.4 update for a while now. The update has been rolled out today globally with a lot of new content to enjoy for the players. MiHoYo releases new updates for the anime styled game in an interval of six weeks. Each new update brings some new characters, rerun banners and quests for the players. For the 2.4 update, Xiao, Zhongli and Ganyu will return in the game and Zhongli being one of the most popular characters, players can hardly wait for the maintenance schedule to end. Genshin Impact 2.4 Update patch notes
Dubbed as the “Fleeting Colours in Flight”, the 2.4 update is going to bring two new female characters- Shenhe and Yun Jin. Apart from that, a new area called Enkanomiya and the Lantern Rite Festival Event will be available in the game. Fans can are already claiming it to be the best update released ever.
New Characters
The 2.4 update of the game will bring a five star and a four star character in the game, both of which are polearm users. However, there is a difference between their elements. Yun Jin is a Geo element user whereas Shenhe uses Cryo. Both of these characters will be available in the first set of banners along with other characters such as Xiao and 4 star characters- Ningguang and Chongyun.
New Area
One of the most exciting aspect of the Genshin Impact 2.4 update is the new area that is going to be added named “Enkanomiya”. It will be available in the Inazuma region and players need to meet the following requirements if they wish to unlock the new area-
- Reach Adventure Rank 30 or above
- Complete the Archon Quest “Chapter II: Act III – Omnipresence Over Mortals”
- Complete the World Quests “The Moon-Bathed Deep” and “The Still Water’s Flow”
New Events
Following events will be a part of the Genshin Impact 2.4 update:
May Fortune Find You (2022/01/25 – 2022/02/09)
This will be a daily login event where players holding Adventure Rank 5 will be able to participate. Upon logging into the game for 7 days, players will be able to get Intertwined Fate, Mora and other rewards.
Flowing Light and Colors (2022/02/09 until end of the update)
This event will provide the players with a rare item called Fragile Raisins, Intertwined Fate, Mora and other resources. This event will be available to Adventure Rank 2 holders.
Fleeting Colors in Flight (2022/01/25- 2022/02/02)
This event will be released in three stages-
- Part 1: January 25, 2022
- Part 2: January 27, 2022
- Part 3: January 31, 2022
The most awaited event where players will be able to get the new 4 star character Yun Jin for free. However, players need to hold an Adventure Rank of 28 and above and need to complete Archon Quests. Players will also be able to get Ningguang’s “Orchid’s Evening Gown” outfit in this event.
Other character wish events, and “A Study in Potion” will also be available in the new update. Players should remember to collect their rewards by logging daily and completing quests.
New Outfits
New outfits will be available for the characters, Ningguang and Keqing. These new outfits will be available in the character shop at limited discount.
Keqing (Opulent Splendor)- The price of the outfit is 1,350 Genesis Crystals. The price will go back to 1,680 Genesis Crystals after the limited-time discount ends.
Ningguang (Orchid’s Evening Gown)- This outfit will be available for free in the “Fleeting Colors in Flight” Event if players are able to complete the “The Moon’s Comely Brow”. The outfit will also be available in the Character Shop and players need to spend Genesis Crystals.
New Equipment

A new weapon named “Calamity Queller” will be available in the 2.4 update. The 5 star polearm will be the signature weapon of the upcoming character “Shenhe”. The weapon will be available in the Event Wish, “Epitome Invocation” and will receive a significant drop rate boost.
New Main Story
The 2.4 update of Genshin Impact will consist of many new quests:
- Archon Quest- The Crane Returns on the Wind
- Hangout Events- Ningguang and Yun Jin
- New World Quests- “Hereafter: The Trail of Pervases,” “Hereafter: All is Well,” “Hereafter: Return to the Mountains,” and “The Very Special Fortune Slip”
- New Commission Quests- Uninvited Guests,” “Adventurer Exam: Battle Tactics,” “Adventurer Exam: The Art of Adventure,” “Adventurer Exam: Taking Flight,” “Anna the Adventurer!,” “Ahoy! A Pirate’s Growth for Ye! and more.
Apart from these features, several new recipes have been added and various characters have been adjusted and optimised.
Maintenance Schedule
The maintenance of Genshin Impact 2.4 Update will commence from 5th January 06:00 (UTC+8) and will continue for 5 hours. PC players can open the Genshin Impact launcher and click on update to download the new content. Following compensation will be provided to the players-
Maintenance Compensation: Primogems ×300 (60 Primogems per hour the servers are down)
Issue Fix Compensation: Primogems ×300
