Today, I finally got a brand new Rivarossi HO 2-6-6-6 Allegheny!! I've wanted one of these things for 4 or 5 years now, so I'm pretty excited about having it.
Now for some nice close-up shots of it!

The tender water hatches open, revealing a detailed water tank.
This thing really has some amazing detail on it! They even put a light in the firebox, so you can see a red glow while it's running.
And not only is the detail amazing, but it runs great too!
It's not diesel smooth, but it's still a very smooth and quiet runner.
This Allegheny is from the second newer run by Hornby, but they're now including the original more detailed Italian instructions and box again. A certificate of authenticity is also included, tied in a little red bow.
The Allegheny comes assembled with the short roof cab, and the drawbar in the mostly extended position. I found that the long cab works fine on curves down to 18", so I went ahead and put it on.
Some of the other included parts are the cab and tender handrails, tender truck chains (extra pins and chains are included if you lose any), brass builders plates, driver brakes, and a couple engine to tender hoses. The hoses should only be put on if you have curves, I'd say, above a 35" radius, and if you're using the realistic drawbar length.
I'm sure you can all tell I'm very happy with my purchase. I'll do a review later (in a week or two), but for now, I need to work on packing for a week long vacation, which starts tomorrow.
