However, after a year, a certain online rumor has come true. Someone has leaked GTA 5 source code on the internet!
GTA 5 and GTA Online have been active since their first release. The game came out when the craze for the Grand Theft Auto series was at an all-time high. Almost every gamer and even non-gamer has at least played one of the games from the Grand Theft Auto series. Furthermore, it’s been a decade since the release of GTA 5. The community still loves the game; however, it seems like not everyone is on the GTA bandwagon.
A while back, a member of the hacking group Lapsus$ hacked Rockstar Games and leaked around 90 clips of GTA 6. Moreover, a UK court sentenced the GTA 6 leaker to life in a hospital prison recently. However, another tragedy has befallen Rockstar Games with the source code leak for GTA 5 on the internet!

Hacks & leaks are getting quite common in the video games industry, and at this point, it’s getting concerning. Recently, the studio behind Spider-Man games, Insomniac, was hacked, and the hacker even leaked a playable version of their upcoming Wolverine game. Furthermore, this time, another leak has come out of Rockstar Games, and it’s the GTA 5 source code.
Recently, a YouTuber called SKizzle announced that someone had leaked the source code for GTA 5 on the internet. There were floating rumors of GTA 5 source code leak last year; however, that rumor later proved to be false. But this time, it’s real, and the source code is out on the internet. The Youtuber further attached picture evidence of parts of the source code, claiming this rumor to be true.

Many things got leaked alongside the source code for GTA 5. This leak has revealed that Rockstar Games is working on its classic “Bully” game franchise and even revealed how much progress they have made. Moreover, this leak had the original script of GTA 5 in it and revealed that GTA 6 was codenamed Project Americas. This breach is really bad for Rockstar, considering their last breach wasn’t that far back.
Hacking and breaching have really become a problem. Moreover, big gaming companies lose out of loads of money due to any security breach they suffer. Insomniac suffered damages in millions and Rockstar is now on the same path, too. This leak could even lead to a potential delay in the release of GTA 6, and if that happens, playing GTA 6 can be a really long-time dream.
