What is the Dyson Airwrap?
The Dyson Airwrap is one of Dyson’s latest hair styling tools that uses air rather than heat to create desired styles. It’s a multi-styler, as it can be used for drying wet hair, in addition to a range of different styling options, including smoothing, straightening, and curling. When you purchase your Dyson Airwrap, it will come with various attachments to use to achieve your desired styles.
Will it damage your hair?
The Dyson Airwap is meant to be a healthier alternative to using traditional hair tools to style your hair. Instead of using high heat the way a hair straightener or curling wand does, the Airwrap features aerodynamic technology that uses air to attract hair to the barrel. This, however, does not mean that the tool uses zero heat. The Dyson Airwrap uses minimal, low heat to style hair, making it a less damaging tool. Users generally report that their hair appears healthier when using the Airwrap compared to when using other high-heat tools. However, if you’re looking to avoid using heat altogether, then it’s better to use heatless methods for styling.
Does it work on different hair types?
The Dyson Airwrap is designed to work on all hair types. There are three separate models, each comes with attachments for different hair types: long hair, short hair (shorter than chest length), and curly or coily hair. Anyone can use the Dyson Airwrap for styling, but please note that the end result will look different depending on your hair type and texture.

What are each of the attachments used for?
Dyson offers attachments for a range of styling options. You can find two types of dryer attachments, one for straight and wavy, the other for curly hair. There are also brush attachments, used for creating straight hairstyles, or the round brush for more voluminous looks. Lastly, there are the barrels, used for curls of various sizes. These come in different lengths, as well, for those with longer hair.
What are the different Dyson Airwrap models?
There are three main Airwrap models you'll find on the Dyson website.
Dyson Airwrap multi-styler Complete Long: for straight or wavy hair that is longer than chest length
Dyson Airwrap multi-styler Complete: for straight or wavy hair that is shorter than chest length
Dyson Airwrap multi-styler Complete Curly/coily: for curly or coily of all lengths
What is the difference between the old and new Dyson Airwrap?
The first-generation Dyson Airwrap was released in 2018; you can find refurbished models on Dyson's website with a lower price tag of $499.99. The original Airwrap has a few key differences from the model that was released this year, the main one being the temperatures. In the second-generation Airwrap model, the air that streams from the drying attachment is higher while the temperature of the curling barrel and the round brush is lower than in the original model. Do new attachments work with first-generation stylers?
Airwrap attachments are universal, meaning they are compatible with both first and second-generation stylers.
Can I buy a refurbished Airwrap?
Dyson offers refurbished first-generation Airwraps directly on their website. The regular price is $499.99--$100 less than the second-generation-- and select refurbished models are priced at $449.99. Most reviews say the refurbished Airwraps are just as good as brand-new ones, offering the same styling capabilities and still in great condition for a second-hand product. You can also purchase refurbished Airwraps from resellers, like eBay, for even lower prices. The lowest we found around last Black Friday is $289.99 for a styler and three attachments.
Is it worth the price?
The hefty $600 price tag, begs the question of whether or not the tool is worth the price. The answer: it depends. While the Dyson Airwrap is meant to work on different hair types, some users find that the tool is not actually compatible with their hair. Additionally, the drying nozzle on the original version is said to be much smaller than that of regular blow dryers, which can make drying your hair take longer. If you’re looking for something to help you quickly dry and style your hair, this may not be the tool for you.
What about the Dyson Airstrait?
This year, Dyson introduced a new product that uses the same aerodynamic technology to straighten hair called the Dyson Airstrait. Use it to take your hair from wet to straight, using just one tool that's quieter than a blow dryer. It is advertised to work on all hair types, but, of course, your final results will be largely dependent on the texture of your hair. If you have a curlier hair pattern, you may need to use additional tools if you're looking for a super sleek look. You can also use the Airstrait to dry, smooth, and curl hair if using the proper techniques. Regardless, the Airstrait helps you use less heat on your hair during styling, which helps promote your overall hair health.
Will the Airstrait be discounted for Black Friday?
Since the Airstrait recently came out, we doubt there will be any significant discounts on it this Black Friday. Priced at $499.99, it's a slightly lower investment than the Airwrap, but similar to last Black Friday, we expect to find a complimentary gift with your purchase, rather than any price markdowns. Where to buy a Dyson Airwrap on Black Friday 2024
In last year’s Black Friday sale, we, unfortunately, didn't find any discounts on the Airwrap. While you can purchase your Airwrap directly from the Dyson website, many popular retailers also carry the product and will offer it for a better price. Despite the lack of available discounts last year, we are still hopeful that you will find ways to save (like by stacking up your rewards points with your purchase)! Amazon: find the Dyson Airwrap, attachments, and even Airwrap dupes discounted on Black Friday
Ulta: Though they have not marked down the Airwrap in the past, you may still find great prices on attachments and other Dyson tools such as the Corrale hair straightener and Supersonic hair dryer
Sephora: There also weren’t any discounts offered on the Airwrap during last year’s Black Friday sale. You could, however, save on select Airwrap attachments.
Nordstrom: You may be able to find Airwrap deals at Nordstrom, as they have discounted it by as much as 10% in past sales.
Best Buy: In past sales, Best Buy has marked down the Airwap by as much as $100, and we hope to see similar discounts this year.
How much will the Dyson Airwrap cost on Black Friday & Cyber Monday?
Different retailers will offer different Black Friday discounts on the Airwrap, so the price you pay will depend on which sale you shop. In the past, the Dyson website itself has offered the highest discounts, however, they sell out quickly. Additionally, this year they are not discounting the price of the Airwrap for Black Friday.

Savings Tip:
Take advantage of the Dyson price-match promise during Black Friday. If you find an Airwrap for a lower price from an authorized US retailer, Dyson will price match you by refunding you the difference. The Airwrap model must be an exact match and you must have proof of the advertised price to receive a refund.
Ulta
Shop the Ulta Black Friday offers to save up to 50% on select products. Unfortunately, the Airwrap has not been discounted as a part of these deals, but we are still hopeful that we'll see discounts closer to Black Friday.
