Genshin Impact still has yet to reveal the face and character design of the upcoming character Kamisato Ayato, and many fans wonder if he’ll end up released in Version 2.6.
Right now, the only thing miHoYo revealed about Ayato is a lot of lore and his voice. Akira Ishida most notably voices Ayato in the Japanese dub. A veteran seiyuu that anime boomers like me know for Xellos in Slayers. One of the best anime of all time. Younger fans know Akira Ishida for voicing Akaza in Demon Slayer.

Could Ayato release in Genshin Impact Version 2.6?
In the past, leakers said Ayato would release either in Version 2.5 or 2.6. Right now, however, miHoYo has officially confirmed Yae Miko alone will be released in Version 2.5.
These leaks were insider leaks from the Chinese forum NGA. As such, assuming the leaks were genuine, it’s entirely possible that miHoYo did plan to release Ayato in 2.5 at some point. But later changed its plans while the leaker’s source stayed with outdated info.
To clarify, this is in response to 1) 2.5 weekly boss, and 2) Ayato's release in 2.5 vs 2.6.
Trusted leakers work with the information that is available to them, and on occasion, those sources are in conflict.

Furthermore, Uncle Dumb Dumb, who now supposedly came back under a different name, mentioned back in December that the development of Ayato is done. Meaning the only thing left for Ayato before his release is that he needs to be tested in a Private Beta and get changed accordingly.
When is Version 2.6 coming out & when is Ayato getting revealed?
Genshin Impact 2.6 would be released on March 30, 2022, with the current six-week update schedule. miHoYo would release the Drip Marketing for Ayato and reveal his character design on February 14, 2022.
