The rise of Carlos Alcaraz has been the story of the 2022 season. Before the 2022 season, the teenager was a young player who had an amazing future in his hands but the rapid pace with which he has risen up the ranks is something that was unseen in tennis in the last few years. Nobody had burst into the scenes so rapidly as Alcaraz did in the last 10-15 years and naturally, there has been a lot of talk about and around him.
The most intriguing thing about Alcaraz’s rise has been his growth physically at the start of the year. Ever since January when he stepped in those sleeveless t-shirts on the Australian courts, talks about his physical transformation circled the tennis tables. He had put in a lot of effort in the off-season and that was visible in his bulging arms.
He had increased his power game and leveled up his physical strength that was unseen for a teenager for a long time. Eventually, results started coming and he soon won his maiden ATP 500 title in Rio. There was no looking back ever since as he went on to win his maiden Masters title in Miami and had an exceptional clay season where he won the Barcelona Open and the Madrid Masters.
Cut to present times, he had made it to his maiden major final and is on the brink of becoming the youngest grand slam champion since Rafael Nadal in 2005. But amidst all this, he has received a lot of heat about his physical strength with some even accusing him of foul play.

Recently, Alcaraz got accused of doping on social media by a certain section of Novak Djokovic fans who questioned the authenticity of his rapid transformation and alleged him of doping. Some even said that he has the same doctor as Nadal- who has been accused multiple times by Djokovic fans of using performance-enhancing drugs.
