Anyone have experience with RAM Track sound installation? - Model Railroader Magazine

If this was given to you, good. but don't go out and buy this. It is an analogue device, white noise generator limited to a hiss and chuff, that is years behind what is now availlable. White noise is white noise. it was state of the art many, many, many years ago. I think Noah had one on the Ark.

You might as well get a DCC sound decoder and use it in analogue conversion mode. You can program decoders with your computer and a PR2/PR3 and DecoderPro so you do not need a DCC command station.  Certain decoders even have automatic settings for the sounds, they can be activated by varying the throttle (Soundtraxx Tsunami).   Digitrax Sound only SFX decoders (they use WAV files)  are availlable for the price these RAM Track gizmos are sold for
