LOS ANGELES (AP) - A longtime family friend says actress Sandra Dee has died of complications from kidney disease. The blond beauty who attracted a large teen audience in the 1960s with films such as "Gidget" and "Tammy and the Doctor" died this morning at a California hospital. She was 63. The family is expected to hold private funeral services. In addition to her movie roles, Dee was known for her marriage to pop singer Bobby Darin. The marriage ended in divorce. Dee became something of a recluse in her later years. Her name was resuscitated in 1978 with the movie musical "Grease," which featured the song "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee" that poked fun at her squeaky-clean image. A friend says she didn't mind at all.
