I reckon the answer is simple....and I'm surprised the rescues are getting all the votes!
If you want a club to use off tees mainly, go with the 5 wood, bigger and more predictable.
If you want a club predominantly for fairway/light rough, go with the rescue.
Both have their merits, but you'd need a pretty low loft rescue to match the distance of a 5 wood. My 5 wood is 17 or 18 degrees and goes miles. My rescue is 20 degrees and tops out 20(?)yards shorter than my 5 wood. In a full bag, I carry both, and a 3 iron too, for tight driving holes....when I need a hook or fade.....
Depends on your swing. If a 17 (approx.) degree rescue (2H) goes almost the same as a 5 wood, then go with the rescue.
