2 people killed in crash after police chase in Cherokee County – WSOC TV

CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. — Two people were killed in a crash Thursday evening in Cherokee County, troopers said.

The crash happened on West Buford Street near Camilla Circle, just north of the town of Gaffney.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, police were chasing an SUV, when it ran off the side of the road and struck a tree.

Troopers said both people in the SUV were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. Officials confirmed they died at the scene.
