Bier Brewery and Upland Brewing Company will both open new locations in the Indianapolis metro in the next year.
INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Two breweries are opening new locations in central Indiana.
Bier Brewery will build a new 3,500 sq. ft. taproom at 13720 N. Meridian Street in Carmel by the first of October. The company says it will be family friendly, and include a large stage for live entertainment and a private party section.
“As we grow, we will always remain focused on making beers of unsurpassed quality for our customers," co-owner and head brewer Darren Connor said in a statement. "We have the capacity to increase production and to add capacity when called for. The new taproom will allow us to make new friends - so drink up, we’ll make more.”
Upland Brewing Company will also build a new brewery, this one in Fountain Square. The 13,000 square foot facility will feature "an immersive interior ball hall experience," plus an outdoor beer garden, open kitchen, on-site brewery and full-service restaurant.
“The space felt like home the moment we found it -- surrounded by art, music, history, and quick access to the cultural trail for cycling around the city," David Bower, Upland's chief growth officer, said in a statement.
The location will also feature an on-site bicycle shop thanks to a partnership with Gray Goat Bicycle Company. The Gray Goat Bike Hub will offer a full-service repair shop, parts & accessories, and new & used bicycle sales.
“Bikes & beer are a match made in heaven, and the easy access to the cultural trail makes this a perfect fit,” added Brian Gootee, owner of Gray Goat Bicycle Co.
Upland hopes to open in the spring of 2019, but no firm date has been set.
