The sun is shining, temperatures are rising, and we’re in a big, happy mood: Pride Month is here. However you’re planning to celebrate, the best Pride collections and merch (along with Pride tattoos and nail ideas) help you show the world exactly who you are—and provide material support to the LGBTQ+ community.
Plenty of brands seem to go all-in each June, rainbow-ifying their logos and releasing products with vague promises to give back a portion of profits. But a few stand out by pledging concrete donations to advocacy organizations with real dollar amounts attached; some even take things a step further by partnering with these organizations and queer creators. So no, a simple Instagram post or colorful T-shirt won’t cut it—if a brand wants to claim they make a genuine difference, we need to see the receipts.
To be clear, buying stuff won’t get us out of the ongoing attacks on the queer community; nearly 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been introduced in state legislatures in 2023 alone, per the ACLU, and at least 18 states are restricting gender-affirming care for minors. But to help you use your spending power as effectively as possible this month—and pick out some cute Pride outfit ideas while you’re at it—we searched far and wide for the best Pride collections that actually give back to the communities they represent.
The Levi’s 2023 Pride collection is filled with pieces you’ll want to wear year-round, including vintage-inspired jeans and on-trend sheer dresses. While the brand made its name off exclusivity, Abercrombie is now more committed to inclusion than ever—and its $400,000 annual donation to the Trevor Project proves that. Its Pride collection is stocked with low-key gender-neutral pieces that’ll complement any wardrobe. (Peep the floral high-rise bikini if you’re still not stocked for summer.)

This month the classic shoe brand is continuing its annual grants to four organizations: the It Gets Better Project; the Ali Forney Center; the Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Youth; and the Theater Offensive. Converse has donated nearly $2.5 million to various LGBTQ+ nonprofits since 2015—and its 2023 Pride capsule also happens to be pretty great. You can even design your own shoes.

Conservative uproar over the retailer’s kid-focused Pride merch—which, to be clear, contained nothing inappropriate for children—led to Target pulling its Pride collection from certain stores, which it claims was due to threats to its workers’ safety. Although that move is controversial, the brand is still selling the adult Pride collection; as in previous years, the items are well-meaning, cute, and designed in collaboration with queer and trans creators. Target is also continuing its annual donation to GLSEN, an organization aiming to create accessible and antiracist spaces for LGBTQ+ students.
