Styles come and go, but nostalgia is forever. There's hardly anything we miss as much as the carefree fashion and music of the '90s, but what about the school supplies? For millennials, this golden age of culture began in the classroom, where we scrawled notes about the new Backstreet Boys video in gel pen or ripped out pages of Tiger Beat to slip into our binders. To celebrate the back-to-school season, we put together a list of our favorite school supplies of yore, all of which made it possible to bring a little more personality into the classroom. Education never looked so good.
Trapper KeepersThese hulking contraptions (they’re a lot bigger when you have a child's body) do it all: They store binder-style notes, have convenient side pockets for folders and thin notebooks, as well as those neat little loopies for pens and pencils. You could decorate them with stickers or other accessories (attach a key ring to the zipper loop!) to show off your personality. It was like carrying an entire desk’s contents from class-to-class — without the desk.
